New websites for Eau de Web, a Romanian software company specialised in Web development, and for Hot Love, Cold Hearts, The 2011 Romanian Film Festival in London.

After months of on/off work, I can now say that the rebuild/redesign of dtailed.com is now complete (or at least 95% there). There’s still some bugs on the mobile side of things and probably some issues in IE (if you’re still using it, even IE9, please change your browser now), which I will sort out in the near future.

The biggest changes are on the portfolio side of things, which has been brought up to date with some of my latest design and build work. This update also marks the separation of my design/build portfolio from my personal work, which has now been completely removed and will shortly reappear on www.tudorprisacariu.com. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a couple of years now, but I never got to it. For the foreseeable future, the blog will continue to live on dtailed.

I’ve also decided to remove comments from the blog (at least for now), but you’ll now be able to share blog posts via Facebook or Twitter. Old comments are still accesible.

On the backend of things, after much effort I have finally managed to put all the WordPress knowledge that I have acquired in the past years to my personal use and rewrite all the code of my theme. The site is now powered by WRK, my fully custom WordPress theme. The theme is HTML5 powered, with all transitions being powered by CSS3. The image gallery sliders that I’ve been using for some time have also been completely rewritten and the lightbox is also part of theme. The site also works nicely on the iPad (with an iPhone/small mobile version in the works).

The plan is to actually release the theme to the public. I will also be using it as a starting point for a couple of other themes that I have been thinking of making for some time.

A major update to the content itself is now also in the works. Stay tuned.

From the 23rd to the 27th of February I was in Rome to take part in Play – Giochi di ruolo, an exhibition organised by students of the IED Rome Event and Museum Curator Masters. I exhibited alongside Romanian artist Tudor Bratu at Accademia di Romania in Roma. The work shown consisted of around 180 postcards with photos taken from my Entropy series. You can see some photos of the work on this page.

As of last week I have joined the great guys and girls at Sennep, where I’d be working as an Interactive Designer. Very exciting times indeed :)

I’ve just randomly discovered that I’ve started my online venture exactly 6 years ago :)

My beloved Because Magazine was elected New Media Age site of the week! Not bad at all. Looking forward to hopefully further develop and tweek it.

STAGE 1 (completed) – In this first step I finally managed to update the blog to a new format, something that I have been meaning to do for a long time. I think that the thumbnails/dates combination gives viewers a much better overview of the latest entries, makes the page look much neater and also reduced load time considerably. I have added thumbnails for almost all the entries in 2009, and I will further try to add more thumbnails to even older entries. 2008 and earlier archives pages use the classic blog formatting.

STAGE 2 (completed) – The work section will also be converted to the same format as the blog (larger thumbnails).

STAGE 3 (completed) – I have added the same style of Javascript horizontal slider for image galleries that I have also used on www.incotro.org. You can see it in action here. there’s also the “light switch” for showing the images on a black background and hiding all the clutter.

STAGE 4 (in progress) – The blog footer needs to be updated to include some more archives information and the search box.
