During my last two visits to Romania I had a massive urge to photograph some of the memorial crosses found by the side of the DN1 (National Road 1), one of the main roads in Romania. I finally managed to do it this Christmas.

The 11 crosses above are spread over 3km between Tâncăbești and Săftica, a segment of the road close to Bucharest which I always have to go on to get to my home. You can see the exact location on this map.

The Prisma shopping centre in Corbeanca, situated 15km away from Bucharest, was one of the first stores of its kind in Romania at the time of its opening, about 15 years ago. Prisma 2, which you can see in the second photo, opened a couple of years after. The shops, which had closed down several years ago, were acquired by German retailer Hornbach who will open a new DYI store on the site in the next year.
