I’ve chosen to write this one in English because I feel that anyone, Romanian or not, should know about and at some point visit this amasing place. I had the chance of spending 3 days in this area of Romania and I was simply blown away by the beauty of the landscape. Documenting what I saw was a huge challenge. Although the images below are only a part of the ones I took, I hope that they will successfully make you appreciate nature’s beauty the same way that I did. For detailed information on the Retezat National Park see this link.

This is the crossing from which I actually fell down in the water. Luckily both my camera and I were unharmed so expect more photos very soon :)

As most people probably know, London will be the host of the 2012 Olympic Games. Most of the events will take place in facilities that currently don’t exist but will be built in the Burough of Newham, more explicity Stratford, Hackney and the area along river Lea.

If you access the London 2012 official website wou’ll be able to find a page dedicated to the so called “Olympic Walk” which encourages you to visit this area before it is going to be transformed. Maps are provided on the website.

No matter what you expect to see there, you’ll probably be suprised by what you’ll find. The landscape is extremely dirty and strange, however it has a particular unique beauty that is going to dissappear once the Olympic facilities start being built.

If you decide to go, I wouldn’t advise you to go alone. Also make sure that you leave by the time it gets dark.

These photos are part of a project that I have undertaken in the past 2 weeks.

As they reach the entrance of a small private parking lot, viewers observe a trail of blood and Christmas tree needles running across the parking lot. As they follow the trail, they reach a recycling skip. The skip is also heavily stained on its side. The lid is closed.

The viewer is faced with having to take a decision: either she/he will explore the scene further and look inside the skip or just turn her/his back and leave. Inside the skip, the sight of a cut down Christmas tree put in plastic bags will unfold. Guilt, curiosity or indifference will dictate whether the viewer will choose to take further action or not.

Every year, 13 to 15 million hectares of forests are cut down, which accounts for around 4 billion trees. Rainforest are the most affected by the process of mass deforestation, with countries from all over the world being in danger of losing most of their rainforests in the next 20 years.

Rainforests generate a large amount of the world’s oxygen. The amount of precipitations that fall in these areas also regulates rainfall and water levels from all over the world. Destroying rainforests can and does cause climate change. Thus, deforestation doesn’t only affect local ecosystems, but the entire biosphere.

Deforestation cannot be attributed to a single individual or company. There is a long chain of offenders starting with the logger and ending with individual that uses one too many sheets of paper. It is a collective process that requires individual action in order to be stopped or at least slowed down.

Many people spend their life traveling between two fixed points, the same two every single day. This repetitive cycle makes them lose interest in the places that they pass through, which become mere cliches of everyday life.

Trying to escape the ordinary, people travel as far as possible from their home, looking for adventure and beauty. They never imagine that they could ever find what they are looking for in front of their house or in the park next to it. The places that most people consider to be common are in fact an endless source of captivating images that tell wonderful stories.

People today have forgotten about the teachings of the bible. Many Christians pretend that they are religious and that they find God every day. However, many of them use God’s name in their own personal interest.

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, “ËœLet me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from you brother’s eye.” (Matthew 7:3-5)

People judge other people and criticize them, pointing out all their imperfections. They are false prophets (Matthew 7:15-20) that pretend to act in God’s name and take decisions on other people’s lives based on this assumption. They are too afraid too look inside themselves and make peace with their own soul.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)

There are many today that take this path and they will all share the same tragic fate.

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way as you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Matthew 7:1-2)

Aici suntem noi (fara mine insa) incercand sa vindem vederile mele. 2 lei s-au dovedit prea mult. M-a amuzat replica prietenei unui tip caruia ii dadusem o vedere gratis: “Si eu as putea sa fac o poza mai buna.” Era vorba de poza asta. Va las pe voi sa decideti..

Sighisoara 2005

Pana la anul, va pupam :)

Sighisoara 2005

7 zile + 8 oameni + 2 masini = 520poze.

Rezumatul intregii calatorii in 50+1 poze il puteti vedea mai jos.

turul tarii

In Cluj, surdomutii sunt mult mai organizati ca in alte locuri,

turul tarii
